Iran's central bank governor travels to Oman for monetary cooperation

Governor of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI) Mohammad Reza Farzin travels to Oman to discuss ways to increase bilateral monetary and banking cooperation.

Heading a technical delegation, Farzin left Tehran for Muscat on Sunday to hold talks with Chairman of the Central Bank of Oman Sayyid Taimur  Asa'ad Tarik Al Said.

The CBI governor also plans to exchange view with other Omani banking and economic officials about the enhancement of monetary, financial and banking interactions.

The promotion of international cooperation and trade and commercial exchanges between Iran and Oman is among other issues on the agenda of Farzin’s visit.

The volume of trade exchanges between Iran and Oman experienced a growth of 41% last year. The expansion of monetary and banking cooperation between the two countries will facilitate banking and economic relations and trade exchanges between the two sides.

Oman is also meditating the indirect talks between Iran and the United States.
