US-Israeli genocide in Gaza

More Palestinian civilians are slaughtered in Gaza as the Israeli military intensifies its unrelenting air and artillery attacks against the blockaded territory. In one of the latest strikes, several Palestinians were killed and injured after Israeli warplanes bombed residential buildings in the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza. Israeli airstrikes were also deadly in Khan Yunis, southern Gaza, with multiple fatalities reported in several neighborhoods. One of the attacks targeted the home of a Palestinian physician where nine of her children were slaughtered. The Israeli artillery also shelled a number of towns including Rafah in the south, killing and injuring Palestinians. According to Gaza officials, the death toll from the US-Israeli genocide since October 2023 is now over 53,820, with nearly 122,400 others injured. Most of the victims are women and children.

Iran ready for defense

Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps says it’s prepared to deliver a decisive and unimaginable response to any hostile action. In a statement, the IRGC said the response will make delusional aggressors deeply regret their actions. It added that its response will shift the strategic balance of power in favor of the righteous front and to the detriment of the US and the Israeli regime in West Asia. The statement emphasized that the IRGC is increasing its comprehensive preparedness day by day across all fields to confront the enemy. The statement comes as people across the nation are marking the liberation of the southwestern city of Khorramshahr from the grips of the Iraqi military during the eight-year war on Iran.

Ukraine-Russia conflict

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has called for increased sanctions on Russia following a large-scale drone and missile attack on Kiev. Local officials said at least 15 people were injured and several residential buildings damaged across the capital. Ukraine’s Air Force said Russia launched 14 missiles and 250 attack drones against the country with Kiev being the main focus. Russia had previously accused Ukraine of launching a massive drone attack against non-military targets in Moscow and other regions and vowed to retaliate. However, Moscow said it was still committed to holding peace talks with Kiev. The fire exchange came after the two sides completed the first phase of what is expected to be the biggest prisoner exchange since the start of the war in 2022. The swap began on Friday and will continue till Sunday, with the two sides expected to release 2,000 prisoners.
