US-Israeli Gaza genocide

The Israeli military keeps slaughtering Palestinian civilians in Gaza, killing more children in fresh airstrikes across the blockaded territory. In one of the bloodiest attacks, at least seven civilians were killed in the bombing of an apartment on Gaza City's Yarmouk Street. Witnesses said the bodies of children and others were thrown into a neighboring home due to the severity of the strike. In another incident, an Israeli drone strike targeted a tent sheltering civilians, killing two Palestinians and injuring several others north of Gaza City. Five people were also killed when an Israeli airstrike hit an apartment building in Gaza City. An earlier attack on the city’s Al-Tuffah neighborhood killed five more Palestinians. Earlier, Israeli strikes killed nearly 30 Palestinians in Jabaliya, north of Gaza City, including 18 civilians who died in an attack on a house sheltering displaced people. Israeli forces have also issued evacuation orders for Beit Hanoun and Sheikh Zayed neighborhoods northeast of Gaza City. The death toll from the regime's genocide now tops 51,300 with nearly 117,250 others wounded.

Israel ICC case

The Appeals Chamber of the International Criminal Court has rejected Israel’s request to cancel or suspend the arrest warrants issued for the regime’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, and former minister of military affairs, Yoav Gallant. In a press release on Thursday, the ICC said it accepted Israel's appeal for a reconsideration of the Court's jurisdiction over crimes committed in the Palestinian territories. However, it added that this issue did not affect the situation of standing arrest warrants. The issue of jurisdiction, the Chamber explained, concerns whether the ICC can prosecute individuals for alleged crimes committed in Gaza and the occupied West Bank. The Court emphasized that Israel’s acceptance of its jurisdiction is not a prerequisite for continuing investigations. It said “investigations indicate that Netanyahu and Gallant oversaw attacks targeting the civilian population and used starvation as a method of warfare.” The International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Netanyahu and Gallant in November 2024, on charges of crimes against humanity and war crimes committed against Palestinians in Gaza.

Israel global isolation

The Spanish government has canceled a multi-million-dollar contract to buy munitions from an Israeli firm. The move followed an outcry within the government over business with the Tel Aviv regime amid its ongoing genocide in Gaza. Spain’s interior ministry announced the official termination of a 7.8-million dollar contract with an Israeli firm, IMI Systems, which was to supply bullets to the Spanish Civil Guard. The ministry had already sought to terminate the deal, but abandoned its attempt after state legal services advised against it. On Thursday, however, government sources said the contract will be "unilaterally" terminated. The ministry said Spain will also halt future defense deals with Israeli companies. The decision to cancel the contract came after strong pressure from Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez’ coalition partner, the far-left Sumar party. Sumar’s Deputy Prime Minister, Yolanda Diaz, said she personally negotiated the cancellation, stating that Spain “cannot buy weapons from a regime that massacres the Palestinian people.” Israel sharply condemned the decision, accusing Spain of what it called "sacrificing security considerations for political purposes."
