US Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s many “skeletons in his closet” will prevent him from defeating the Democratic nominee to become the 45th president of the United States, says an American analyst.
William Jones, with the ANSWER Coalition, made the comments on Sunday while referring to the former head of the NSA and CIA’s comments about Trump and the possibility that US military forces would defy his orders if he becomes president.
“I would be incredibly concerned if a President Trump governed in a way that was consistent with the language that Candidate Trump expressed during the campaign,” retired general Michael Hayden said in an interview with Bill Maher on Friday.
Jones told Press TV that Trump is likely to do and say things that are “illegal” and that gives the military the right to disobey him as president.
However, the analyst noted that Trump’s chances to become president are low, despite the high possibility of him winning the Republican nomination.
“If Trump did get the nomination he would have a difficult time in beating the Democratic nomination who probably would be Hillary Clinton,” Jones argued.
He described as “chaotic” the political situation in the US, saying Americans are upset with the government.
“They are upset with the president and they are upset with our Congress because neither of them has done anything over the past 8 years that actually have benefited the American people,” Jones said.
This is why people like Trump get a chance to rise, saying things that resonate with the public, he noted.
“The institutions of the presidency I think are strong enough that the insanity that he is mouthing now will not become policy,” he added.
Jones said Trump has “a lot of skeletons in his closet; he has not been a very good person during his life,” and this will come back to “haunt” him as the race goes on.
