US mayor calls police, FBI, DHS over ‘Love for all’ flag

‘Love for all’ flag leaves Texas town mayor in disarray.

The mayor of a small town in the US state of Texas has called on police, the FBI as well as the Homeland Security for help after a flag reading “Love for all” in Arabic appears on a building.

The mayor wanted a full investigation into the incident on Monday after the flag featuring a red heart was detected hanging off a downtown building in Lubbock, the Huffington Post reported.

Mayor Glen Robertson said he was "concerned on several levels" over the move.

"It has been brought to my attention that an Arabic flag has been hung from one of the upper floors of the Omni building," Robertson said in a letter sent to City Manager James Loomis. "I am requesting that the flag be removed immediately, that we get an accurate translation of the flag, and that Chief Stevens notify the Department of Homeland Security, the FBI, and our Lubbock County Sheriff's Department."

"I fully understand that we must gather more facts before we make a knee jerk reaction but I am concerned on several levels," he added.

Local media reports said three trespassers had been detected entering the building as investigations continued to ID the suspects.
