African Union refuses to observe Burundi presidential elections

The African Union has confirmed that it won't send election observers to Burundi for its upcoming presidential vote.

The African Union has confirmed that it won't send election observers to Burundi for its upcoming presidential vote. It says Burundi has so far failed to create an environment conducive for an election. The vote comes amid strong opposition to President Pierre Nkurun-ziza’s bid to run for a third term in office.
