Environmental warfare
Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian has condemned the environmental consequences of the US-Israeli war on Iran, saying the attacks have severely damaged the country’s ecosystems. Addressing the 17th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity in Armenia, President Pezeshkian has said war does not only target human lives and economic infrastructure, but inflicts profound devastation upon nature. He has described the destruction of the environment during wars as “ecocide", citing attacks on industrial and energy facilities that contaminate the soil and water. Pezeshkian has added that destructive and prohibited weapons were used during the imposed US-Israeli war on Iran, with some attacks intentionally causing environmental damage, including strikes on fuel storage facilities in the capital, Tehran. The Iranian president has called on the international community to establish mechanisms to assess environmental damage and to help restore ecosystems affected by war.
Iran military power
The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps says Iranian forces are ready in all areas of defense, including on land, at sea, and in the air, to deal with any possible aggression by the enemies. The IRGC's deputy commander-in-chief, Major General Mostafa Izadi, said Iranian forces have created a strong and unified defensive front across the country. He added that the enemy is in a precarious situation and, to cover up its unfavorable conditions, continues to make new claims. The general noted that just in the same way that the enemy was defeated in previous wars, if it makes the slightest move, it will face defeat again. Izadi stressed that if the enemies attack the country, Iranian forces will resist to the end, push them back, and will not allow them to seize even a single inch of Iranian soil. The general noted that Iran will continue to stand by the resistance front to the end in order to defend divine values, justice, and truth, and support the deprived people in the region and the world.
