Iran control of Hormuz
The commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Navy says Iranian Armed Forces are in full control of the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz, making the United States’ 13-billion-dollar aircraft carrier ineffective. The commander noted that the US has deployed fighter jets and is spending an enormous sum of money to help a small number of oil tankers cross the Strait covertly. He warned that any vessel that violates Iran's Hormuz passage rules under American pressure will face consequences. Ozmaei further pointed out that the Americans have imposed a media blackout to prevent the world from finding out that Iran is punishing violating vessels. He said this is why the IRGC was forced to release videos of a couple of violating tankers being targeted to show the depth of the US military’s humiliation. Ozmaei emphasized that if US warships approach even the entrance of the Strait of Hormuz, Iran’s armed forces will sink them. He warned that the US only seeks to plunder the wealth of Muslim nations in the region. Ozmaei stressed that Iran can establish economic, political and military security in cooperation with its Muslim neighbors, and American presence is not required in the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman. He reassured the Iranian people that the IRGC Navy and the Iranian Army’s Navy are firmly protecting the region and will decisively deal with any enemy there.
Yemen retaliation
The political bureau of Yemen’s Ansarullah has issued a statement on the anniversary of the country’s October 14 Revolution against the British colonial rule, saying Yemen has historically been a graveyard of invaders. The bureau vowed that Yemen will continue confronting Saudi Arabia under the principle of blockade-for-blockade and escalation-for-escalation. It added that the main objectives are ending the aggression and lifting the blockade of Yemen. Also on the anniversary, Yemen’s defense minister and chief of staff warned that Saudi-backed military mobilizations would be considered potential targets. Major General Mohammed al-Atifi and Major General Yusuf al-Madani rejected Saudi accusations that Yemen threatens Islamic holy sites, describing them as misleading. They said Saudi-led aggression continues to target civilian infrastructure and will not deter Yemeni forces from their operations. The October 14 Revolution began in 1963 against the British rule in South Yemen and led to independence in 1967.
Russia-Ukraine war
Ukraine says several people have been killed in a Russian missile strike on the capital Kiev. The city’s mayor said the strike hit an apartment building, injuring over 20 others. Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymir Zelensky criticized his Western partners for failing to provide warnings before the strike. The attack comes amid reports that Washington has threatened to restrict arms supplies to Ukraine over its strikes on Russian oil refineries.
