‘Plant the earth with our bodies’: Hezbollah fighters reaffirm readiness for protracted war against Zionists
Hezbollah fighters have issued an uncompromising pledge of allegiance to Secretary-General Sheikh Naim Qassem, vowing to "plant the earth with their bodies" rather than surrender an inch of territory or lay down their arms in the face of US-Israeli aggression.
In a message addressed to Hezbollah Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem on Wednesday, Hezbollah fighters said they will continue to stick to the ideals of the group, including refusing humiliation and disgrace.
"In obedience to your command, we are ready on every front; we have not and will not lay down our arms," said the message.
Hezbollah fighters renewed their allegiance to Sheikh Qassem and said they were ready to sacrifice their blood and soul for the honor of their esteemed leader.
"…We pledge to you that we will offer the most precious thing we possess, our blood and our souls…if you were to order us to plant this earth with our bodies and never move, we would be exactly where we need to be," said the message.
"We refuse humiliation and disgrace, and we demand our Karbala-like revenge against every oppressor and tyrant. And the days will bear witness that Hezbollah are indeed the victorious."
The message also cherished the memory of the late Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, who was assassinated in an Israeli bombardment on southern Beirut two years ago.
"The echo of your voice will continue to envelop us, ignite our revolution within us, and erupt as a volcano of our wrath upon the world," it said of Nasrallah.
The message comes amid growing pressure from the United States and the Israeli regime on the Lebanese government to force Hezbollah to disarm as part of a ceasefire that would see the Israeli military forces withdraw from areas they have occupied in southern Lebanon in the past year.
Hezbollah has dismissed calls for disarmament, saying its weapons are a legitimate part of Lebanon's defense against Israel based on the 1989 Taif Agreement.
