‘Manipulating’ energy markets
Iran's Foreign Minister says US government elements are manipulating energy markets for personal gain while keeping the president trapped in a losing war. In a post on X, Abbas Araghchi stated that intelligence shows major efforts to game energy markets, with some U-S officials using gullible media to influence prices. He added that Israel-aligned actors are promoting the continuation of war with unrealistic assessments, while American consumers are the ones paying the real cost. Araghchi said the war has made clear that US presence does not bring security, and that losing hope in America can be the beginning of regional cooperation based on trust. He added that the diplomatic apparatus will not be lenient in the face of excessive demands and bullying.
Calling for Muslim unity
Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf says Muslim unity and regional cooperation can achieve lasting stability and security in the Islamic world. In a message marking Unity Week, Qalibaf said Iran’s Shia and Sunni communities share a common bond in their love for Prophet Muhammad and his Household, as well as their Iranian identity. Talking about the Islamic world, Qalibaf pointed out that security built on the presence of outside powers is fragile, while security based on the will of the Muslim people and cooperation among regional countries is lasting and dignified. The Iranian official reminded that the fruits of unity among Muslims, particularly in recent developments, include making the enemy taste defeat. Qalibaf noted that emerging regional partnerships among Muslim countries signal a shift toward greater self-reliance, cooperation and brotherhood.
Gaza hospitals targeted
Israeli forces have struck medical facilities in both central and northern Gaza. In a double-tap attack, Israeli warplanes struck a tent inside the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital complex in Gaza’s central city of Deir el-Balah. Moments later, a medicine warehouse behind the hospital’s maternity ward was also targeted. The strikes left an unspecified number of Palestinians injured. Separately, an Israeli quadcopter dropped an explosive device behind Kamal Adwan Hospital in the north. Gaza’s Health Ministry says at least nine Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks across the war-torn territory over the past 48 hours, bringing the overall death toll to nearly 73,500.
