Desperate US ‘Economic D-Day’

From banks to oil to vessels to individuals, thousands of Iranian entities and people have been sanctioned by the United States. The first sanctions on Tehran from Washington took place the year of the Islamic Revolution victory in 1979. 

Since the early days of the Islamic Republic, the sanctions have simply increased in number and intensity. Despite this, Iran has continued to advance and has even fought and won two wars against the US and Israel last year alone. So now Washington says it will inflict Economic D-Day on Iran. What does that mean?
