Saudi Arabia cannot halt Yemeni strikes without recognizing nation's rights: Ansarullah official

A senior member of Ansarullah resistance movement stated that the Yemeni people will never relinquish its strategic equations, emphasizing that the only option for Saudi Arabia to secure a complete cessation of Yemeni drone and missile strikes is to recognize the legitimate rights of the Yemeni people and respect their sovereignty and national integrity.

Hizam al-Assad, a member of Ansarullah’s political bureau, emphasized in a post on the social media platform X on Wednesday that the Yemeni nation is utterly determined to reclaim all its rights and break the ongoing, comprehensive siege, stressing that the people will make whatever sacrifices deemed necessary.

“The obstinacy and arrogance of the Saudi regime will eventually lead to its downfall. The Riyadh regime's attempts to garner regional and international support, and to lavishly spend billions of dollars in this regard, will neither undermine the willpower nor change the position of the Yemeni people,” he noted.

The Ansarullah official highlighted that the most viable and efficient way for the Saudi regime to respond to the legitimate demands of the Yemeni nation is to lift the ongoing siege and cease its intervention in Yemen's domestic affairs.

Mohammed al-Farah, another prominent member of Ansarullah's political bureau, similarly stated that Saudi Arabia's destructive interference in Yemen’s internal affairs forms the core of the Yemeni crisis.

“These interventions, which are carried out with the support of the United States and the Israeli regime, are meant to prevent Yemenis from making independent, national decisions,” he said.

Farah added that the ongoing aggression and siege are part of the Saudi regime’s schemes to establish absolute control over Yemen and undermine its independence.

“The Yemeni issue is more than a mere internal dispute. Yemenis could have resolved their differences through dialogue if it were not for foreign interventions and the devastating war waged against our homeland,” he pointed out.

The Ansarullah official emphasized that Saudi Arabia’s bid to gain total control over Yemen is plainly evident in its endeavors to dominate the country's political decision-making, seize its natural assets and ports, impose a tight blockade on its airports, prevent the Yemeni people from accessing their resources, sow seeds of discord, and prevent the creation of a unified, fully independent Yemeni state.

Farah added that unfolding regional developments have imposed new realities, and that stability in Yemen and the broader West Asia region will only be ensured through the recognition of the Yemeni people's right to build their own independent state, an end to the ongoing siege and aggression, and compensation for the damages caused by years of war.

On July 20, the Sana’a government announced a maritime blockade against Saudi Arabia, stating that authorities in Riyadh have imposed "an unjust and oppressive siege" on Yemen for nearly 12 years, "plundering our resources and implementing a complete blockade."

Yemen has prepared a comprehensive target bank encompassing Saudi Arabia’s oil, maritime, aviation, and industrial infrastructure, with retaliatory strikes already underway, unless Riyadh ends its blockade and halts its unprovoked aggression.

Subsequently, the Yemeni Armed Forces have announced multiple successful operations against Saudi-linked vessels in the Red Sea.

Since March 2015, Saudi Arabia and its allies have imposed a blockade on Yemen, initiating a comprehensive war supported militarily, politically, and logistically by the United States and certain Western countries.

The war has killed tens of thousands of Yemenis, yet Saudi Arabia has failed to achieve its primary goal of reinstalling a puppet regime aligned with Riyadh.

Following a tenuous ceasefire brokered by the UN in 2022, the United States, Britain, and the Israeli regime launched multiple aggressive military actions against Yemen.

These assaults aimed to undermine Sana’a's ability to conduct solidarity strikes against Israeli targets in retaliation for Tel Aviv's genocidal campaign in the Gaza Strip.
