US airstrikes in Yemen killed or wounded hundreds of civilians last year, yet the Trump administration has deliberately concealed the death toll and failed to provide a mandatory casualty report to Congress.
Citing internal documents and two sources familiar with the military operations, NBC News reported on Wednesday that the April 2025 strikes claimed the lives of at least 150 civilians and left approximately 200 others injured.
These lethal strikes were part of a broader campaign by American and British warships targeting Yemen from March to May in 2025.
The aggression was launched in a futile attempt to force the Arab nation to halt its maritime operations against Israeli vessels and those linked to the occupation, in an effort to stop the ongoing genocide in Gaza.
In one of the worst incidents, a US airstrike hit a key oil terminal on Yemen's Red Sea coast, massacring at least 74 people and wounding 171 others in an attack widely condemned as a war crime.
This US military escalation in Yemen was inextricably linked to Washington's unwavering support for Israel’s ongoing genocide in Gaza.
Since the Al-Aqsa Flood on October 7, 2023, a retaliatory operation by Palestinian resistance groups against escalating Zionist violence and apartheid, at least 73,381 Palestinians have been martyred and over 174,231 others wounded.
Beyond the staggering loss of life, which has disproportionately claimed women and children, Israel has obliterated nearly 90% of Gaza’s civilian infrastructure.
The United Nations estimates that the cost to rebuild the devastated enclave will reach approximately $70 billion.
Throughout this brutal campaign, the United States has served as the primary enabler of the occupation.
Washington has supplied endless munitions, provided absolute diplomatic cover, and repeatedly weaponized its veto power at the UN Security Council to shield Israel from international accountability and block calls for a permanent ceasefire.
