An Israeli soldier has been killed, and 13 others sustained injuries during an overnight operation targeting the occupation forces in southern Lebanon.

The Israeli military identified the deceased soldier as Nir Ben Ari, a 21-year-old sergeant first class serving in the Maglan unit of the Commando Brigade.

An initial investigation by the military, as reported by the online newspaper The Times of Israel, revealed that “around 1:30 a.m., a series of rockets and an explosive drone targeted a military position in the village of Kfar Tebnit, located in the Nabatieh area.”

The Israeli army confirmed that the attack resulted in the death of one soldier and injuries to 13 others.

Furthermore, it was noted that two of the injured individuals were in “serious condition,” one was classified as “moderately injured,” while 10 others suffered from light injuries.

As per the report, the soldiers were involved in an operation aimed at seizing what was characterized as a significant underground Hezbollah installation located beneath the Ali Taher Ridge.

The attack occurred a day after the deaths of four additional Israeli soldiers during offensives related to the same objective.

Israel’s military onslaught in Lebanon has resulted in the deaths of at least 4,057 individuals, with more than 12,000 others injured and over 1 million residents displaced since March 2, as reported by Lebanese authorities.

The most recent assaults followed a report from Israel’s Channel 12 on Friday, which cited an unnamed official stating that a ceasefire agreement with the Hezbollah resistance movement commenced at 4 p.m. local time (1300 GMT).

Additionally, a senior US official corroborated the ceasefire in an official statement.
