'A new beginning for Iran's great leap': VP Aref congratulates Leader on historic MoU with US

Iran's First Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref

First Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref has congratulated Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei on a "historic and strategic victory" for Iran and the achievement of a "powerful agreement" with the US.

In a message sent on Thursday, Aref emphasized that the success was made possible through the Leader's wise guidance, the resilience of the Iranian people, the strength of the armed forces, the blood of martyrs, and the efforts of the government.

"This agreement is not an end, but a new beginning for the great leap of Islamic Iran," Aref stated, adding that the world has now greeted this new global power center and a new era has begun for the Islamic Republic.

The 14-point document was signed remotely in the early hours of Thursday by Pezeshkian and US President Donald Trump, who was attending the G7 summit in France.

Aref stressed that political achievements will only be sustainable when pursued through a resistance economy, national unity, and in full alignment with the Supreme Leader's strategic directives.

The first vice president paid tribute to martyred Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, saying his strategic vision, and precise engineering of the power structure laid the foundations for this victory.

"His political and defense school served as the compass for the nation in confronting global arrogance," Aref wrote.

He also praised the current Leader's courageous leadership during the most intense military pressure from the enemy, describing his performance as "remarkable and astounding" in guiding the nation and military strategy.

Aref highlighted the role of Iran's defense capabilities, missile power, and the heroic deterrence of its armed forces and commanders.

The first vice president also acknowledged the "patient resistance and vigilance" of the Iranian nation, which stood firm despite heavy attacks and terror scenarios.

He praised the efforts of President Masoud Pezeshkian, the heads of the three branches of the Islamic Republic, commanders of the IRGC and Army, and government officials for maintaining the country's vital networks and infrastructure during the war.

Aref further emphasized that Iran will now focus on emerging technologies, a knowledge-based economy, supporting elites and young scientists, and localizing advanced technologies.

"We will ensure the sustainability of this strategic victory in the people's livelihoods and the advancement of Iran's name on the global stage," he said, adding "Iran is not an incident in history, but history itself."
