Iran’s Industry Minister has visited Pakistan for talks aimed at boosting bilateral economic cooperation.

Pezeshkian has described the historic Islamabad MoU signed with the US in June as the future “centre of gravity” of the Islamic Republic’s foreign policy.

The MoU involved the US lifting its naval blockade and easing restrictions on Iranian oil exports, in exchange for Iran maintaining commercial navigation through the Strait of Hormuz. However, within weeks, the US reinstated sanctions and launched military strikes, leading to renewed tensions.
