Israeli media urges continued Lebanon strikes to disrupt Iran-US MoU

Israel’s Channel 14 has called on the occupying regime to maintain its attacks on Lebanon in order to sabotage the peace agreement between Iran and the United States.

The channel claimed that Israel must continue its strikes on Lebanon to derail the recent Iran-US memorandum of understanding.

It came as Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters issued a warning to the Israeli military, stating that if the “child-killing” army does not cease its “malicious activities” in southern Lebanon, it should expect a “harsh response” from the Islamic Republic’s Armed Forces.

Israel has reportedly informed the US that it does not consider itself bound by the agreement, which includes an immediate and permanent end to military operations on all fronts, including Lebanon.

“The agreement with Iran was made by Trump, and this is his decision; we have our own interests,” Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a statement on Monday, vowing that Israeli troops would not withdraw from Lebanon and that the fight against Iran was “not over.”

Since the MoU was announced two days ago, the Israeli regime has violated the ceasefire in southern Lebanon 84 times, continuing its “crimes and massacres” against the Lebanese people, according to Iranian military sources.

At least four Israeli drone strikes targeted the southern Lebanese town of Mayfadoun on Tuesday afternoon, following heavy artillery bombardments in other areas.

Hezbollah: No nuclear deal without Israeli withdrawal

Hezbollah’s Media Relations Department stated on Tuesday that Iran has assured the resistance movement there will be “no nuclear deal between Iran and the US” unless Israel withdraws its occupation forces from Lebanon.

A full Israeli pullout, the statement said, would be the “result of” and “not a precondition” for the continuation of Iran-US talks following the signing of a Pakistani-mediated memorandum of understanding.

Speaking during a meeting with ambassadors and heads of foreign missions in Tehran on Tuesday, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said the Iranian and Lebanese fronts are “interconnected.”

“From our perspective, there are two sides in this MoU. On one side, there is the US and Israel, and on the other side, there is Iran and Hezbollah,” Araghchi stated.

Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf spoke with his Lebanese counterpart Nabih Berri on Tuesday, emphasizing that the US, along with the guarantor parties and the international community, must ensure that Israel ends its war on Lebanon.

Hezbollah Secretary-General Naim Qassem issued a statement expressing gratitude to the Islamic Republic, saying, “On behalf of Hezbollah and the martyrs of the Resistance, I thank you.”
