President Masoud Pezeshkian has emphasized that Iran makes no decision without the approval of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei.

Pezeshkian made the remarks during a meeting with the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) chief and managers on Sunday as Tehran and Washington edge closer in Pakistani-mediated talks to finalizing a memorandum of understanding aimed at ending the imposed war on the Islamic Republic.

“No decision in the Islamic Republic of Iran will be made outside the framework of the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) and without the coordination and permission of the Leader,” he said.

“When a decision is made in the field of diplomacy, all institutions, platforms, and movements must support it so that a single and coherent voice is transmitted to the world from the Islamic Republic.”

Pezeshkian also noted that one of the enemy’s main objectives during the recent war of aggression was to silence the voice of truth and the IRIB’s enlightening narrative.

He further thanked the national media’s staff, especially those who were continuously present in the field and covered events moment by moment.

“If we all move together within the framework [defined by] the Leader’s guidelines and maintain national solidarity, the enemies will never achieve their goals against the country,” Pezeshkian asserted.

Additionally, he censured some hostile and anti-Iran currents, which shamelessly expect the US and the Zionist regime to destroy and disintegrate the country, saying they must be held accountable before the conscience of the nation.

The illegal US-Israeli aggression on Iran began on February 28 with airstrikes that assassinated senior Iranian officials and commanders.

The Iranian armed forces unleashed 100 waves of successful retaliatory strikes against sensitive and strategic American and Israeli targets throughout the region.

On April 8, forty days into the war, an Islamabad-brokered temporary ceasefire went into effect. However, the first round of Tehran-Washington negotiations failed to reach an agreement.

The US unilaterally extended the truce after its expiry, but imposed an inhumane “naval blockade” on Iran.

Tehran has refrained from committing to a second round of talks, with authorities citing Washington’s excessive demands and piracy against Iranian ships as two main impediments to concluding the war.
