Trump flaunts his war crimes as Iranian bridges, health centers are bombed

The B1 Bridge linking Karaj to Tehran, bombed by the US before a second strike on April 2, 2026. The bridge was not operational yet, despite blatant American lies that it was used to send logistical support to Iranian military forces in Tehran.

The US has attacked major civilian infrastructure in Iran, hours after President Donald Trump threatened in a prime-time address to bomb the country "back to the Stone Age”.

Trump boasted of the destruction of the B1 Bridge, which connects Tehran to the city of Karaj, in a second strike, just hours after an initial attack resulted in the deaths of at least two civilians and several injuries on Thursday.

"The biggest bridge in Iran comes tumbling down, never to be used again — Much more to follow!" he wrote on his Truth Social platform.

The second strike occurred while emergency responders were still assisting victims of the first attack, escalating the humanitarian impact.

The attack signals a widening of the US military's targets and could be a first step toward more attacks on energy, water and transportation infrastructure.

Axios, citing an unnamed military official said, more bridges are likely to be targeted. Trump himself had cited bridges as prime targets in the ongoing terrorist war on Iran.

“We’ll hit some bridges, got a couple of nice bridges in mind. But if they come to the table, that’ll be good,” he had said.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi condemned the actions, stressing that such tactics would not force Iran to surrender.

"Striking civilian structures will not compel Iranians to back down," Araghchi wrote on X, adding, "Every bridge and building will be rebuilt stronger. What will never recover: damage to America’s standing."

The US official who allegedly spoke to Axios defended the attack, claiming that the bridge was used by Iranian forces to move missile parts and military supplies.

The outrageous lie further infuriated Iranians, many of whom had witnessed Iranian engineers constructing it while traveling to the north, a favorite weekend getaway, and were eagerly looking forward to its impending completion to reduce their journey.

The night prior, Trump had declared that the US would hit Iran "extremely hard" to force it to make a deal. “We're going to bring them back to the Stone Ages, where they belong," he said.

As Trump’s setbacks have deepened, his hypocritically warm words about Iranians have faded into taunts and insults—culminating in his recent messages calling them 'the lunatic nation of Iran.'

In January, when protests erupted in Iran over the sharp decline of the rial, Trump told Iranians to keep riots and said help was on the way, in the clearest sign yet that the US president may be preparing for military action against Tehran.

“Iranian Patriots, keep protesting – take over your institutions!!! … help is on its way,” Trump said in a post, a day after the White House press secretary said airstrikes were among “many, many options” the US president was considering.

The Iranian mission to the United Nations said the US is deliberately targeting civilian infrastructure, stating: "They openly threaten to bomb our power infrastructure and return Iran to the Stone Age."

Iran also condemned a US-Israeli attack on Pasteur Institute, one of the country’s oldest public health institutions, as a “barbaric assault on basic human core values.”

The Pasteur Institute of Iran is one of the century-old pillars of global health and a member of the international Pasteur network.

The institute is a research, production, service, and educational organization established with the goal of ensuring public health.

Throughout its century-long history, it has played a key role in controlling many infectious diseases both in the country and worldwide. Since 1920, this institute has been one of the pioneers and key hubs of vaccine production in the region.

US-Israeli missiles struck another major pharmaceutical company, Tofigh Daru, in Teh

ran on Tuesday morning, completely destroying its raw material production units and its research and development unit.
