The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC)'s Aerospace Force says the Iranian nation’s support for fighters in the battlefield has caused the aggressors to retreat from their threats to attack the vital infrastructure of the country.

The force's Commander Brigadier General Seyyed Majid Mousavi made the remarks in an X post on Monday after US President Donald Trump stepped back from his threats against Iran’s critical infrastructure amid Tehran’s warning of swift and severe retaliation.

“The enemy’s multiple retreats [from its threats] are the result of public support in the streets for fighters in the battlefield,” he said.

He was referring to mass rallies that have been held across the country over the past three weeks in support of ongoing Operation True Promise-4, which began in response to the illegal US-Israeli aggression against Iran.

Mousavi also noted that the fight will continue until the realization of national and patriotic goals. “The astonishing presence of people in the streets has led to the efficiency of the field, something that is the key to subsequent victories and epics,” he added.

Trump had earlier set a 48-hour deadline for Iran to open the strategic Strait of Hormuz or face US strikes on Iranian power plants.  Later, however, the US president backed down, saying he had ordered the Pentagon to suspend all plans for attacks, and claiming that talks were underway with Iran.

Additionally on Monday, Parliament spokesman Mohammad-Baqer Qalibaf said that no negotiations have been held with the US.

He further stressed that such “fake news” is aimed at “manipulating the financial and oil markets and escaping from the quagmire that the US and Israel have been stuck in.”

The Iranian people want the “full” and “regret-inducing” punishment of the aggressors, Qalibaf said, emphasizing that all officials are firmly standing behind the nation and Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei to reach that goal.

The criminal US-Israeli aggression on Iran began on February 28 with airstrikes that assassinated senior Iranian officials and commanders.

The Iranian armed forces have responded by launching almost daily missile and drone operations targeting locations in the Israeli occupied territories as well as US military bases and assets across the region.
