Renowned Egyptian actor Amr Waked has lauded Iranian resistance in the face of American-Israeli aggression, praising the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and denouncing those who rejoiced over the aggression.
In a series of tweets posted Sunday, the veteran film and television star, known for his roles in international productions such as Syriana, The West Wing, and House of Saddam, strongly condemned the war of aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Waked began his message by praising Ayatollah Khamenei, who was assassinated on February 28 in an unprovoked and illegal act of aggression.
"Seyyed Ali Khamenei—may God have mercy on his soul—was a great statesman and a martyr on the path of truth who destroyed falsehood," Waked wrote.
The actor framed the Iranian response to the cowardly assassination as a pivotal moment for the Muslim world, asserting that the late leader's martyrdom galvanized a powerful retaliation against American forces in the region.
"His martyrdom led Muslims to launch a barrage of thunderous missiles toward the enemy, destroying all American bases in Arab countries, so that today we may sit and witness this moment of pride," he asserted.
"Iran is a Muslim country that stood up to America."
In a direct address to the adversaries of Iran, the actor praised the late leader's sacrifice and linked the current war against Iran to the broader struggle over Palestine.

"O worthless enemies, this noble martyr sacrificed his life. He sacrificed himself to triumph over colonial powers. Now, Muslims have prevailed over those who occupied the land of Palestine more than 100 years ago," Waked stated.
He concluded with a prayer that invoked both divine mercy for the assassinated leader and divine wrath upon his enemies.
"O God, unite us with this brave hero and unite our enemies with bin Salman and the Epsteins," he wrote, referencing Saudi crown prince Mohammed bin Salman and the late American sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, who has been linked, among others, with US President Donald Trump.
Waked ended with a stark condemnation of those who supported the attack on Iran: "May God curse anyone who attacked Iran and rejoiced over this attack."
The actor's comments place him among a small but vocal group of Arab public figures who have openly sided with Iran amid the ongoing war against the country.
Waked, 51, is one of Egypt's most internationally recognized actors. He gained prominence in the early 2000s and has balanced a career between Egyptian cinema and Hollywood productions in recent years.
In recent years, he has been known for his outspoken political views, particularly regarding Palestinian rights and resistance to Western intervention in the region.
