IRGC Navy political deputy: WWe have 2 'defining' weeks ahead

Mohammad Akbarzadeh, the political deputy of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Navy

The political deputy of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Navy says Iran’s military might and the nation’s steadfastness have so far thwarted the plot of the arrogant powers, and that the upcoming weeks of the war will be “defining.”

Speaking in an interview with Fars News Agency, Mohammad Akbarzadeh stated that “three important components” have caused the plan of the hegemonic regime to fail.

In this regard, he referred to the ban on ship passage through the Strait of Hormuz, saying it has created an energy crisis and led to soaring prices, and “the global economy can’t withstand such pressure.”

Akbarzadeh also noted that the “powerful and precise” offensive power of the Iranian forces, which “has surprised the enemies and confused many American analysts and general”, and the “meaningful, passionate and widespread” presence of the people at the Enqelab (Revolution) Square, which has “terrified” the warmongers of Washington and Tel Aviv, are the other two crucial components.

“Blind attacks on non-strategic points are evidence of this claim,” he said.

Akbarzadeh also said the underway second week of the war “will be the most important period of the war”.

“If Iran can maintain the upper hand like last week, which is easily possible, we should expect a new signal from the United States to stop the war,” he said, noting that the enemy's estimates have been disrupted and their actions have gone out of balance.

Starting from the third week, Akbarzadeh expects world powers to resort to Iran to prevent a regional war.

In the third week, Iran’s decisions will be “decisive” for the region, he said.

“It is Iran that will forever determine the fate of the puppet Zionist regime and the United States.”

“The formation of an independent Palestinian state and the permanent closure of American bases [in the region] will be among the most important regional policies of a proud and powerful Iran.”

The US and Israel started a fresh round of aerial aggression on Iran on February 28, some eight months after they carried out unprovoked attacks on the country.

Iran began to swiftly retaliate against the strikes by launching barrages of missiles and drone attacks on the Israeli-occupied territories as well as on US bases in regional countries.
