The Palestinian Hamas resistance movement says Israeli forces continue to intensify their breaches of the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, by intentionally striking civilians and their residences under misleading justifications.

Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qasem in a statement released on Monday evening took a swipe at Tel Aviv for flouting the efforts of mediators and sponsoring countries seeking to maintain calm and stability in Gaza.

He called on these parties to adopt a firm position to pressure the Israeli regime into halting its breaches and adhering to the ceasefire agreement.

The remarks came as two Palestinians were wounded by Israeli army fire on Tuesday in the southeastern part of Gaza City.

The official Palestinian news agency WAFA, citing medical sources, reported that the two men were shot by Israeli forces near the al-Shawa gas station in the Zeitoun neighborhood, southeast of Gaza City.

Six Palestinians were killed on Monday in Israeli airstrikes targeting central and northern Gaza.

Among the fatalities are at least four Palestinians who lost their lives in an Israeli air attack on a residential building.

The Palestinian Health Ministry says that at least 72,032 people, mostly women and children, have been killed and 171,661 others wounded since the start of Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza in October 2023.

A number of victims remain under the rubble and in the streets, as ambulance and civil defense teams have been unable to reach them.

Since the ceasefire was announced last October, 587 Palestinians have been killed and more than 1,550 others wounded as a result of Israel's violations of the agreement.
