Anger and outrage have spilled onto the streets of Kashmir and the neighboring Kargil after a deadly suicide bombing targeted a Shia mosque in Pakistan’s capital, Islamabad, killing dozens during Friday prayers.
The demonstrators accused the Pakistani government of failing to protect the minority community in the country. Denouncing the attack, the protestors expressed solidarity with the victims and their families and called for an end to the killings in the name of religion. Placards carried by protesters demanded both justice for the victims and responsibility from Pakistani officials.
