Davos decision based on ‘lies’

Iran's foreign minister has slammed the World Economic Forum for canceling his presence at the Davos summit. Abbas Araghchi said the decision was made on the basis of lies and political pressure from Israel and its US-based proxies and apologists. Araghchi’s comments on his social media account come as the World Economic Forum said its invitation for Araghchi has been withdrawn, citing Iran’s operations against recent terrorist attacks. Araghchi said the forum’s decision came despite the fact that Israel's genocide of Palestinians and mass slaughter of 71-thousand innocent people did not compel it to cancel any invitation extended to Israeli officials whatsoever. He said if the forum wants to feign a supposedly "moral" stance, it should at least be consistent about it, because its blatant double standard only conveys moral depravity and intellectual bankruptcy.

Settler violence on the rise

Tense situation in the occupied West Bank shows no sign of abating, as Israeli forces storm the headquarters of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency in al-Quds. The regime’s troops have declared the UN property confiscated, after demolishing it in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood. Meanwhile, Israeli forces conducted a series of raids in several other towns and cities. In Nablus, the regime’s soldiers raided and ransacked the al-Ain and Balata refugee camps, arresting at least one Palestinian. A number of homes were stormed in southern Al-Khalil, while several Palestinians were injured in Bethlehem. The occupied West Bank has been witnessing intensified Israeli raids and settler violence since October 20-23. According to data recorded by the IOF and Israel’s spy agencies, the number of attacks by settlers against Palestinians rose by 27% in 20-25.

US- EU trade war

As the US President has renewed his threats of tariffs against Europe over Greenland, the German Chancellor says the levies will ultimately hurt American consumers more than anyone else.  Speaking at a press conference in Berlin, Friedrich Merz warned that such tariff threats could significantly weaken transatlantic relations. Merz asserted that the European Union stands ready to respond, if necessary, to protect its interests, including those of Germany. Earlier, the German government spokesperson described Trump's threats as unacceptable. Stefan Kornelius warned that there will be no winner in such a confrontation. The reactions from Berlin come as Trump vowed to QUOTE 100% follow through on his threat to impose tariffs on the European countries that oppose his demand to take over Greenland. European allies have rallied around the Arctic island’s sovereignty.
