Tehran gives heroic sendoff to martyrs of US-Israeli aggression in massive rally

Mourners gather in Tehran’s Enghelab Square to pay their respects to the martyrs of recent US-Israeli terrorism during a funeral procession on the 21st of Ramadan, marking the martyrdom of Imam Ali (AS) on March 10, 2026.

A large crowd of fasting Tehran residents have gathered at Revolution Square to participate in the funeral procession of martyrs assassinated in recent US and Israeli airstrikes.

The ceremony, which started at noon on Wednesday and proceeded toward the Shrine of the Martyrs in southern Tehran, honored both military commanders and civilians who lost their lives in the US-Israeli acts of terrorism.

Despite the fatigue from spending the previous night in prayer for the Night of Qadr, many mourners filled the streets of Tehran in solidarity with the victims.

The procession took place on the 21st of Ramadan, marking the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Ali (AS), adding spiritual significance to the event.

Among those being honored were high-ranking military leaders, including Major General Seyyed Abdul-Rahim Mousavi, Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces; Major General Mohammad Pakpour, Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC); Admiral Ali Shamkhani, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council; and other commanders martyred in the recent terrorism.

The procession also included the remains of civilians who had been martyred in the attacks, with families present to bid farewell to their loved ones.

As the mourners walked, the sound of Qur’an recitations and eulogies filled the air, accompanied by flags of Iran and portraits of the nation’s martyrs, including the late Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
