Rejecting Gaza ‘Board of Peace’

The Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement has denounced a so-called Board of Peace for Gaza proposed by Washington to oversee the start of the phase two of the ceasefire in the Palestinian territory. The Palestinian movement said the composition of the Board of Peace only serves the interests of the Israeli regime. The movement said it had been committed to the ceasefire agreement in the first phase and is ready for implementation of its second phase despite the regime’s violations. However, it said the formation of the Board indicates the negative intentions regarding the implementation of the agreement. On Friday, the White House unveiled the board as part of phase two of the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas. Among the individuals are the US secretary of state Marco Rubio, Special envoy Steve Witkoff, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair and Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner.

Greenland anti-Trump protests

Protesters in Greenland have rallied against US President Donald Trump’s demand that the Arctic island be ceded to the United States. Thousands of demonstrators marched through the capital Nuuk on Saturday, led by Greenland’s Prime Minister Jens-Frederik Nielsen. Protesters carried Greenland’s flags and banners as they headed toward the US consulate, calling for the island’s right to determine its own future. Trump has pushed to acquire Greenland due to its strategic location and mineral resources, and has not ruled out using force to do so.
