US abduction of Maduro sparks protests in Rome
As public anger erupted on a global scale over the US military aggression against Venezuela and the kidnapping of President Nicolas Maduro, a string of Italian left-leaning organizations and political parties and Italy's largest trade union, GGL, have held a demonstration near the US Embassy in Rome.
Unionists and academics denounced US President Donald Trump's attack of Venezuela as illegal, imperialist, and, carried out with the support of Zionist forces and without public consent.
The US invasion of Venezuela is a military operation that makes everybody think no government is safe. The US represents 4% of the world's population. They cannot continue to dictate the line for everybody.

Italy's Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni was the first among several European leaders to have supported Donald Trump's action to invade Venezuela and kidnap its president.
In addition, Meloni was the only European leader to have supported the US military operation against Venezuela from the beginning.
Italy's Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said at the weekend that he is following the situation in Venezuela, with particular attention on the Italian community there, as around 160,000 Italian nationals live in the South American country.
Italy's position of support for the US imperialist aggression in Venezuela is shameful. As it is shameful that the Italian government has not yet recognized Maduro's 2024 electoral win, and that Rome considers Trump's action in Venezuela an act of self defense.
