Israel Gaza truce violations
Israeli forces continue to violate the ceasefire agreement in Gaza, killing more civilians and causing widespread destruction in their latest attacks. Gaza hospitals received three new bodies in a matter of 48 hours, including one new fatality and two bodies retrieved from under the rubble. The new fatalities increased total deaths since the start of the ceasefire to 415. The overall death toll from the Israeli genocide since October 2023 stands near 71,270, with more than 171,200 others injured. Israeli forces also continued to attack various areas of Gaza. The regime’s artillery shelling hit the al-Tuffah neighborhood of Gaza City, while its military vehicles fired at Palestinian houses and tents of displaced people in the al-Bureij refugee camp. Israel’s heavy airstrikes also hit various areas across the territory, including east of Gaza City and the city of Rafah, in southern Gaza.
Slamming US backing for Israel
A senior Hamas official has strongly denounced the US President’s latest remarks in support of Israel. Osama Hamdan said Donald Trump's pro-Israeli remarks are in line with the United States’ biased position towards the regime. Hamdan’s remarks came after Trump claimed Israel has 100-percent adhered to the terms of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza. He made the comment in a meeting with the regime’s prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, in Washington. The Hamas official stressed that the US administration must pressure the occupation to fulfill all its obligations as contained in the ceasefire agreement. Hamdan said Israel deliberately disrupts the work of humanitarian institutions and obstructs the entry of aid into Gaza in a clear violation of the terms of the ceasefire agreement. He noted that Israel seeks to empty Palestinian lands of their residents, and its recent recognition of Somaliland is part of its plan to vacate Palestinian lands and displace Palestinians. Hamdan urged the international community to stop Israel’s plans to displace Palestinians out of their ancestral lands.
Israel settler population decline
Thousands of Israeli settlers have left the occupied territories in 2025, as the regime pressed ahead with its genocidal war on Gaza. This, according to a report by Israel's Central Bureau of Statistics. The report said more than 69,000 Israeli settlers have left the occupied territories in 2025, recording a negative migration balance for the second straight year. It added that the settler population in the occupied territories rose only one-point-one percent in 2025, making it one of Israel’s slowest years of population growth ever. The report noted that the year 2025 was the second straight year in which more settlers left the occupied territories than those who arrived. According to the report, many experts have attributed the changing trend to Israel’s tense political and security climate in recent years, including the war in Gaza. They have also cited disillusionment with the regime’s judicial overhaul plans as another reason prompting settlers to leave the occupied lands.
