The UK government's complicity with the Israeli regime's genocide in Gaza continues, but rather than pulling back, the British state is doubling down in its attacks on pro-Palestine activists who dare to speak out.

For the first time at a recent protest, British police arrested a number of people for chanting the phrase: "Globalize the Intifada."

The arrests mark a huge escalation in the government's repression of pro-Palestinian activists.

The police claimed that chanting to globalize the Intifada is a racially aggravated crime, but the chant makes no mention of any race or group of people, nor does it necessarily imply a call to violence.

Since October 7, 2023, the British government has adopted increasingly draconian measures to try to crush all expressions of pro-Palestinian dissent.

But activists say that the latest arrests represent a dangerous escalation in that campaign of intimidation on behalf of the Jewish Lobby.

These arrests are unlawful and will be challenged in court, and these policing powers need a full judicial review, and not just to be operated on the say-so of some officers on a power trip.

There's certainly a question of undue influence, where possibly policy decisions are being pushed by the chief rabbi and the board of deputies, and certainly a possible conflict of interest regarding the chief rabbi and his son serving in the IDF [sic].

Ultimately, this is about free speech, rule of law, and holding foreign influence to account.

Yet, while people are being arrested in the UK for merely chanting slogans, there are estimated to be dozens of Israeli soldiers in the UK walking the streets freely despite their participation in the genocide in Gaza,

When it comes to the safety of people on the streets, we have IDF [sic] terrorists that were serving in Gaza that are here in the UK.

This poses a safety risk to all Muslims in the UK, to all Arabs and to all Palestinians in the UK.

Surely, the Home Secretary needs to have their docks in order and to put these people to justice in British courts for the crimes that they've committed abroad.

But despite the increasing police aggression against them, activists are even more determined to continue exposing both the genocide in Gaza and the UK's complicity in it.
