Iran and Kazakhstan have underscored their shared determination to comprehensively expand relations in various fields and the importance of effective participation in regional and international organizations.
Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, in a telephone conversation with his newly appointed Kazakh counterpart, Yermek Kosherbayev, reviewed and exchanged views on the latest status of bilateral relations and regional cooperation.
Araghchi congratulated Kusherbayev on his appointment, recalled the constructive cooperation with the former Kazakh Foreign Minister Murat Abugaliuly Nurtileu, and expressed hope that this close collaboration would continue in the new term.
Kusherbayev previously served as Deputy Prime Minister from February and has held other senior diplomatic and administrative posts.
Pointing to the positive and constructive history of relations between the two countries, the top diplomats reaffirmed their common will for the comprehensive expansion of ties in political, economic, scientific, and cultural fields.
The two sides also highlighted the importance of an active presence and effective participation in regional and international organizations, including the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), and agreed to continue consultations and talks in this regard.
