Israel violating Gaza truce
Israel’s violations of the ceasefire agreement continue in the Gaza Strip, causing more deaths and injuries among Palestinians across the besieged territory. According to Palestinian officials, more than a dozen bodies arrived at Gaza’s hospitals in just 24 hours, including the bodies of seven civilians killed by direct Israeli fire. They said the number of Palestinians killed in Gaza since the ceasefire took effect on October 11 is approaching 90. The Israeli navy also attacked Palestinian fishermen off the coast of Gaza City after opening fire on them, detaining three fishermen. The overall death toll from the regime’s genocide stands at nearly 68,230, with about 170, 370 others injured. Gaza’s hospitals also received the bodies of 15 Palestinians on Tuesday, who have not been identified yet, increasing the total number of bodies received from Israel to 165. For its part, the military wing of Hamas, al-Qassam Brigades, handed over the bodies of two Israeli captives that were recovered on Tuesday.
Resistance in Gaza
A senior member of the Hamas resistance movement has rejected ANY possibility for the elimination of the movement from the political arena in Gaza. Mohammed Nazzal said the elimination of Hamas is nothing but an illusion, and no party is able to push it out of Palestine’s political equations by force and any other means. He, however, stressed that Hamas does not insist on governing Gaza. Nazzal said the movement is aware of the complexity of political conditions in the region and the world, but will never give up the interests of the Palestinian nation. His comments came after US president, Donald Trump, threatened to eradicate Hamas if it breached the ceasefire agreement in Gaza. Trump's allegations came at a time that Israel has been violating the truce deal multiple times by killing civilians and preventing the entry of aid into the war-torn territory.
Israel West Bank violence
The United Nations says it has recorded a sharp uptick in attacks by Israeli settlers on Palestinians in the occupied West Bank. The world body says it has documented more than 750 settler attacks across the occupied territory during the first half of this year alone. According to the UN, Israeli settlers are launching brutal attacks against Palestinians causing casualties or property damage. It added that the figure shows a 13-percent increase over the same period in 2024. Meanwhile, the head of the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, Mu'ayyad Shaaban, said Israeli forces and settlers had conducted nearly one-hundred-60 attacks on Palestinian olive farmers across the West Bank in early October. The attacks ranged from direct physical assaults to arrests, movement restrictions, denial of access to farms, and gunfire. Israeli settlers’ violence against Palestinians has dramatically increased since the onset of the regime’s genocide in Gaza from October 2023.
