Israel Gaza violations

Despite a ceasefire agreement between Hamas and Israel, deadly violence has continued across the Gaza Strip. Since Tuesday morning, at least nine Palestinians have been killed, six of them in Gaza City alone. The Gaza ministry of health says in the past day, at least 44 bodies have been taken to hospitals and nearly 30 injured. Francesca Albanese, the UN Special Rapporteur on the occupied Palestinian territory has denounced Israel’s actions as a breach of the ceasefire. She called for global accountability through sanctions, divestment, and boycott until “occupation, apartheid, and genocide” come to an end. Hamas has also condemned the killings as Israel’s violation of the truce. The group urged mediators to hold Israel to its commitments under the deal.

President of war or peace?

Iran says the US president has been misled into believing that Iran's peaceful nuclear activities will be nearing weaponization this spring. Foreign minister Abbas Araghchi asserted that even US agencies have found no evidence to support such allegations. He cast doubt on the Iranian nation trusting an olive branch extended by the same hand that's bombed people’s homes? Araghchi also criticized President Trump’s dual posture, saying he cannot be a President of Peace while provoking endless wars and aligning with war criminals. He stressed Trump can either be a President of Peace or a President of War. Araghchi also reiterated Iran's openness to respectful and mutually beneficial diplomatic engagement, emphasizing the need for constructive dialogue.

'China ready to fight US trade war'

China says it is ready to fight to the end in a trade war with the US, after Donald Trump announced additional 100-percent tariffs on Chinese goods. The Chinese Ministry of Commerce urged Washington to correct its wrongdoings as soon as possible and show sincerity in trade discussions. A ministry spokesperson said the US has repeatedly introduced new restrictions that harm China’s interests and undermine the atmosphere for bilateral talks. According to the spokesperson, Washington cannot seek talks, while at the same time threatening to introduce new tariffs. The two economic giants have imposed port fees on each other’s shipping firms on Tuesday.
