New Gaza attacks despite Trump’s claims

Despite Hamas’s partial acceptance of Trump’s peace plan, the Israeli regime is pressing ahead with its genocidal campaign in the Gaza Strip. Over 40 people have been killed in Israeli air strikes and artillery shelling on Gaza since dawn. Two children have also died of starvation. The US-Israeli genocide in Gaza began in October 2023. Since then, over 67,000 people have been killed in the besieged strip with 169,430 others wounded. Observers say the actual death toll is likely far higher, with thousands of bodies believed to be buried under the debris of blown-up buildings.

Pro-Palestine protests

People have taken to the streets in several European countries to express support for Palestinians, especially in Gaza. In Britain, police arrested several demonstrators despite the overwhelmingly peaceful protests. The protesters gathered in Central London, demanding an end to the US-Israeli genocide in Gaza. Similar demonstrations were held elsewhere, some of them in much larger scale. In Spain, tens of thousands of people rallied in the capital Madrid, voicing anger over the war on Gaza. Protesters in Turkey and France also condemned the Israeli attack on the Global Sumud Flotilla, which was meant to break to siege on the Gaza Strip by delivering food and medical items. All the activists on board the vessels were abducted by Israeli forces and are now awaiting deportation.

Hezbollah chief’s warning

The Hezbollah chief warns that what is happening across the region is part of the Israeli regime’s "Greater Israel" project and is fully backed by the United States. Sheikh Qassem made the remarks during a speech honoring two Hezbollah officials assassinated by Israel last year. He described the recent Gaza peace proposal as an "Israeli plan with an American disguise.” The Hezbollah leader stressed, however, that the Palestinian people and their resistance will not surrender. On the domestic front, Sheikh Qassem stated that Israeli attempts to create sedition in Lebanon have failed. He said the Arab country has the upper hand because its people are committed to their rights and are ready for sacrifice. The Hezbollah chief also urged the Lebanese government to focus on the country's reconstruction and reclaiming its national sovereignty.
