Anniv. of Operation True Promise 2
Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps has released a statement on the anniversary of Operation True Promise Two. It warned that any new aggression from the enemy will face a stronger and deadlier response. The IRGC said the attack served as a message that the era of issuing threats without consequence has ended. It said Iran struck deep inside the occupied territories with waves of precision missiles and drones, destroying the illusion of grandeur of the Israeli regime. The IRGC underlined that by targeting strategic centers in the heart of occupied lands, it was proven that Iran’s missile and drone capabilities can pierce even the multilayered defenses of Israel, despite US and NATO support. The IRGC also honored the sacrifices of fallen commanders. It stressed that the operation was carried out in response to the martyrdom of resistance leaders, Ismail Haniyeh, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, and Major General Abbas Nilforoushan. Iran carried out Operation True Promise 2 in October 2024, launching waves of missiles and drones against Israeli targets in the occupied territories.
Condemning attack on Sumud Flotilla
Thousands of people have marched in cities across the world to condemn Israel’s interception of the Gaza-bound Global Sumud Flotilla. In Italy, pro-Palestinian demonstrators blocked traffic in Rome, backing a call by the country’s main trade unions for a general strike on Friday in solidarity with the flotilla. They called for the resignation of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni over her strong support for Israel. In the cities of Naples and Turin, protesters briefly occupied train platforms and disrupted rail traffic. Similar demonstrations took place in Berlin, where clashes with police led to several arrests. In Turkey, protesters gathered outside the Israeli consulate in Istanbul, chanting anti-Israel slogans and urging the Turkish government to take strong measures in defense of the flotilla. In Tunis, demonstrators called on Israel to end what they described as genocide and massacres in Gaza. Several other countries such as France, Spain, Argentina and Greece have also seen similar protests.
