Over a million protesters demand Macron’s resignation amid nationwide strikes

In France, there has been a major day of union-led mobilization against President Emmanuel Macron’s government. According to the CGT, over one million people took to the streets in more than 700 demonstrations across France, with 135 blockades recorded nationwide. Over 80,000 police officers were deployed, and the Paris march saw tear gas fired at protesters.
