US-Israeli genocide in Gaza
The US-Israeli genocide continues unabated in the Gaza Strip. At least five people have been killed after the Israeli military targeted a residential tower in the vicinity of a university in Gaza City. The Israeli army continues to destroy residential towers and infrastructure. Israeli jets also targeted the al-Shati refugee camp west of Gaza City, killing six people. Since dawn, at least 45 people have been killed, including seven aid seekers, across the Gaza Strip. The total number of Palestinians killed by Israel since the start of its genocide in Gaza in 2023 has surpassed 64,800 with over 164,200 injured.
Pro-Palestine rally in London
In London, protesters have taken to the streets to show their solidarity with Palestine. Organizers have described the demonstration as a stand for justice, equality, and solidarity against hate. The British capital also saw another protest organized by far-right groups. Approximately 1,000 police officers were deployed in an effort to prevent any clashes between demonstrators.
Gaza humanitarian Flotilla
A group of European lawmakers have urged their governments to take urgent action to protect members of the Global Sumud Flotilla, after it was twice attacked by drones in Tunisian waters. In an open letter, 158 Parliament members and Senators from across Europe described the strikes as “deliberate assaults” on civilians from different nationalities. They urgently called on European states and institutions to speak out against the attacks and take concrete measures to ensure accountability. The letter said silence from governments after the first attack “only encouraged further aggression.” The lawmakers warned that with two attacks in two days, flotilla members are now in “immediate danger.” The Sumud Flotilla seeks to break the Israeli blockade on Gaza. The activists on board the flotilla say the drone attacks against it were carried out by Israel.
