Al-Quds anti-Israel operation

Seven people, including four rabbis, have been killed in a shooting operation in the occupied city of al-Quds. At least 20 Israelis have also been injured. The Israeli army says the attack took place at Ramot Junction on the north-western outskirts of Al-Quds. It says two Palestinian shooters boarded a bus and opened fire. Over the past two years, Israeli military operations in Gaza and the West Bank have spawned reprisal attacks by Palestinians, further heightening tensions across the region. Meanwhile, the Islamic Jihad resistance movement described the operation as a natural and legitimate response to the ongoing crimes of Israel. Hamas stated that the attack struck deep into the security apparatus of Israel and affirmed the determination of Palestinian youths to continue confronting the Israeli occupation. The group stressed the ongoing Israeli aggression will not weaken the morale of the Palestinian nation.

Yemen reprisal attacks

A fresh Yemeni operation against the Israeli regime. The Yemeni army says three positions have been targeted this time. The Yemeni army spokesman also praised the shooting operation in al-Quds that killed at least seven settlers and injured many more. In the meantime, Israeli media reported that flights at Ben Gurion were temporarily halted due to fears of a potential drone strike. Fighter jets were also deployed over Tel Aviv in an urgent attempt to intercept a drone after initial interception efforts failed. The Israeli Army Radio claimed that one drone was eventually intercepted after a 35-minute chase.

Iran-Iraq ties

Iran and Iraq have signed a 21-point cooperation deal to boost border and economic ties. At a meeting in Tehran, Iran’s Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni and Iraq’s border authority chief Omar al-Waeli agreed to expand border markets, run 24-hour crossings and improve security coordination. The two sides also praised the success of this year’s Arbaeen pilgrimage, crediting additional crossings for easing the flow of millions of pilgrims. Officials say the deal will enhance trade, curb smuggling, and deepen bilateral relations between neighbors Iran and Iraq.
