Gaza ethnic cleansing
More loss of lives and widespread destruction in Gaza as Israeli forces continue their strikes across the aid-deprived territory. Medical sources say at least 67 Palestinians were killed in the regime’s attacks since morning. Among the dead are 14 civilians shot while seeking aid. Israeli forces targeted volunteers securing aid along Salah al-Din Road in Deir al-Balah. They also struck a group of civilians east of Al-Bureij in central Gaza. The Gaza humanitarian situation is rapidly deteriorating with the World Health Organization reporting that less than half of hospitals are partially functional. Meanwhile According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, Israel’s genocidal war which began in October 2023 has so far claimed nearly 61,600 lives and left over 154,000 injured.
Global condemnation of Israel
Foreign ministers of nearly 30 countries have condemned Israel’s plan for a new large scale military operation in Gaza. In a joint statement published by Britain, the countries including Canada, Australia, japan and EU member states argued the move would deepen Gaza’s humanitarian catastrophe and risk mass displacement of civilians. The statement urged an immediate and permanent ceasefire to allow unimpeded aid into the strip and called on Israel to lift restrictions on humanitarian groups.
Armenia-Azerbaijan agreement
Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has underlined that the Azerbaijan-Armenia agreement should not cut off Iran’s access to regional transport routes. In a phone call with his Armenian counterpart, Araghchi said the agreement should not lead to geopolitical changes, adding that countries’ territorial integrity and sovereignty should be respected. Armenian foreign minister Ararat Mirzoyan, for his part, said his country attaches importance to its relations with Iran, based on good neighborliness and mutual interests. He assured Araghchi that Yerevan pays utmost attention to regional peace and stability as well as mutual interests with Tehran, in any decision about regional transport routes.
