Thousands of Palestinians staged mass protests across the occupied West Bank, calling for an end to the Israeli genocide in Gaza and denouncing the humanitarian crisis caused by the occupying regime’s starvation campaign in the besieged territory.

Local media reported that the mass rallies took place in various major cities throughout the West Bank, not least Ramallah, Jenin, and Nablus, on Saturday evening in support of Palestinians in Gaza.

The demonstrators chanted slogans in support of Gaza and condemned the crimes of the occupying regime and the ongoing genocidal war for the 652nd day in a row amid a catastrophic humanitarian crisis.

Earlier in the day, the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas issued a statement urging the international community and the Arab and Muslim world to mobilize globally against the illegal entity.

Hamas called for international action to save the Palestinian people in Gaza and denounced the Israeli regime’s systematic starvation campaign.

“Let tomorrow, Sunday, July 20, and the coming days be global days of solidarity and international mobilization, in which all powers and free people around the world participate, to expose and condemn the Zionist crimes of genocide and starvation against innocent civilians in Gaza, including children, women, and the sick.”

Reports also announced a comprehensive strike across the West Bank on Sunday in solidarity with Gaza and in protest against Israel’s policies of siege and starvation.

Pro-Gaza rallies held in US, Europe

The anti-Israel rallies also occurred in various cities across the United States and Europe.

The official Palestinian WAFA news agency said hundreds of activists gathered on Saturday for a large-scale peaceful march in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, under the banner “Ceasefire Now.”

The participants called for an immediate end to the war on Gaza and demanded that the US government halt its military support for the regime.

The Brooklyn demonstration was part of a broader wave of protests that swept across several US cities over the weekend, including Collingswood, New Jersey, and Somerville, Massachusetts, with organizers describing the actions as part of a national movement to denounce the Israeli siege and genocide in Gaza.

The British capital of London also witnessed on Saturday one of the largest demonstrations in support of Palestine since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on Gaza in October 2023.

Over 80,000 people took to the streets to demand an end to the support of the British government for Israel and to stop the export of arms to the regime.

The German cities of Berlin and Hamburg were also the scene of mass demonstrations in support of Palestinians in Gaza

Since October 7, 2023, Israel has relentlessly pursued a policy of violence and deprivation in Gaza, resulting in widespread killings, destruction, forced displacement, and genocide.

Despite international pleas and directives from the International Court of Justice to halt the genocidal actions, Israel has defied calls for restraint, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis and inflicting further suffering on the besieged population.

The genocide has left some 200,000 dead and wounded, most of them women and children, and more than 11,000 missing. Hundreds of thousands have been displaced, and famine has claimed the lives of many, including dozens of children.

The usurping entity accepted longstanding negotiation terms by the Hamas resistance group under the Gaza ceasefire, which began on January 19.

On March 18, however, Israel unilaterally broke the ceasefire and resumed its relentless bombing of Gaza.
