US-Israeli genocide in Gaza

Gaza has witnessed another harrowing day as Israeli forces intensify their relentless bombardment of the besieged territory. Two women were killed when an Israeli attack hit the Latin Monastery church in the east of Gaza City. The Israeli military also bombed a gathering of residents in the north of the territory, killing at least one person and injuring others. At least 22 Palestinians have been killed since dawn Thursday. Since the onset of Israel’s genocide in October 2023, over 58-thousand-570 Palestinians have been killed and more than 139-thousand-600 injured. Most of the casualties are women and children. The death toll continues to rise as bodies are pulled from beneath the rubble, all amid a rapidly deteriorating humanitarian crisis.

Slamming US-Israeli bullying

Iran has warned against the mounting US and Israeli pressure on those probing Israeli war crimes in Palestine, saying it signals the collapse of the global legal order. Foreign Ministry Spokesman, Esmaeil Baghaei, made the comment in a social media post, in reaction to the joint resignation of all three members of a UN Commission of Inquiry investigating Israeli crimes in Palestine. Baqaei said the resignations signal that international institutions are no longer tolerated to document the truth. He described this as an alarming sign of the erosion of the global legal order and norms. Baghaei further noted that international institutions are losing legitimacy and effectiveness under mounting militant bullying and radical unilateralism. The resignations, announced on Monday, come as the US has imposed sanctions on international anti-Israel investigators, including UN rights expert Francesca Albanese, who has been critical of Israeli genocide in Gaza.

Israel's aggression on Syria

Syria’s Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham-led regime has begun withdrawing its forces from the southern city of Sweida, days after deadly clashes there left over three-hundred-50 people dead. The withdrawal is part of a ceasefire deal that will bring a complete halt to HTS military operations in the city. The agreement includes the full integration of the Sweida province into the Syrian state. Clashes in Sweida began on Sunday, sparking an intervention by HTS forces, who joined with the Bedouin in attacking Druze fighters. The Israeli regime then intervened in support of the Druze, attacking several parts of the Arabs state, including defense ministry headquarters and the presidential palace in Damascus. Meanwhile, Syria's interim President Abu Mohammad al-Jolani criticized the regime’s assaults, which he said were pushing the situation to a large-scale escalation. He has also vowed to hold to account those behind the violence against the Druze minority.
