Genocide amid stalled talks

In Gaza, Israeli forces kill more Palestinians already grappling with thirst and hunger all across the besieged strip. According to Gaza’s civil defense agency, Israeli airstrikes have killed at least 92 Palestinians since this morning. 10 of those people were collecting water at a distribution center in the Nuseirat refugee camp, most of them women and children. Several were also killed in an attack on a market in Gaza city. This comes as talks for a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas which began in Qatar last Sunday have been stalled. Israel’s refusal to fully withdraw troops from Gaza is holding back progress in indirect talks with the resistance movement Hamas. The ongoing Israeli onslaught, which began in October 2023, has so far killed more than 58-thousand Palestinians.

Gaza humanitarian crisis

A health official in Gaza has warned that all hospitals in the besieged strip will stop running by Monday if fuel is not supplied. The director of al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City, Muhammad Abu Salmiya said the Israeli army withholds fuel up to the point of death, and only then are hospitals given a very small amount. He said medical supplies and medicines are also running dangerously low. In a joint statement, eight UN agencies have also warned that Gaza’s worsening fuel shortage is threatening to shut down critical humanitarian operations. The statement says without immediate fuel deliveries, essential services, including hospitals, water desalination, food distribution, and sanitation, could come to a halt.

EU US tariff warning

Donald Trump’s tariff war is escalating, and now even America’s closest allies are in the crosshairs. The EU is preparing retaliatory measures, while Germany warns the economic blowback could hit both sides of the Atlantic. As tensions rise, ordinary citizens brace for the fallout of a trade battle with no winners.
