A number of prominent Western politicians have condemned the latest Israeli attacks on Iran, urging their governments to stop funding and supporting the Israeli regime and avoid being dragged into a war that has no public support among Western nations.

Key figures furious about the US’s unconditional support for the Israeli regime and its “war criminal” leader Benjamin Netanyahu include US Congresswomen Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar.

Tlaib said the US must stop backing the Israeli “genocidal regime”, warning that “bombing Iran is a dangerous escalation that could lead to regional war.”

American Democratic Congresswoman Ilhan Omar also voiced her anger over being dragged into a destructive war that “Americans don’t want”.

Moreover, British politician and Member of Parliament Jeremy Corbyn spoke of “a shameful failure of global leadership” to stop the Israeli regime from acting with total impunity.

In addition to Corbyn, former First Minister of Scotland Humza Yousaf said that Israel’s allies are assisting a leader that is “out of control.”

Clare Daly, a former member of the European Parliament, also denounced Israel’s killing of Iranian civilians as "barbarous lunacy."

The Israeli regime launched targeted assassinations of Iranian commanders and scientists, along with airstrikes on Iranian nuclear facilities across the country, in the wee hours of Friday morning.

Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Bagheri, commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Major General Hossein Salami, Major General Gholam Ali Rashid, commander of the central headquarters of the Iranian Armed Forces, and Amir Ali Hajizadeh, the IRGC aerospace division commander, were among those martyred in a series of illegal attacks this morning.
