US-Israeli genocide in Gaza
More deaths and devastation in Gaza, as the Israeli regime presses ahead with its deadly strikes across the besieged territory. Multiple areas in Gaza City, including al-Shujaiyya and al-Tuffah neighborhoods, were targeted, leading to the destruction of residential buildings and the displacement of many civilians. Israeli warplanes also struck Ansar Mosque in Deir al-Balah with three airstrikes, while heavy artillery shelling and airstrikes hit Beit Lahia and Jabalia in northern Gaza. Israeli forces destroyed the Noura Al-Kaabi Dialysis Hospital, the only facility providing kidney treatment to thousands of patients also in north. In southern Gaza, three Palestinians were killed and 35 others injured while waiting for food aid outside the US aid distribution center near Rafah. Another 40 people, attempting to reach an aid distribution center also killed in Rafah on Sunday. The US-Israeli genocide has so far claimed the lives of more than 54,400 civilians, leaving nearly 124,200 others injured since October 2023. Most victims are women and children.
Iran-Egypt ties
Iran's Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, has held a meeting with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi in Cairo, during an official trip to the Arab State. The top Iranian diplomat is in Cairo at the invitation of Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty. In an interview upon his arrival, Araghchi said the trip is part of an ongoing diplomatic dialogue between Tehran and Cairo, which he said has seen a significant boost over the past year. Strengthening bilateral relations as well as regional issues, including the genocidal war on Gaza are on the visit’s agenda.
Iran-US indirect talks
Tehran reiterates that any agreement during the indirect talks with the US must guarantee nuclear enrichment inside Iran and a verifiable removal of the sanctions. The foreign ministry spokesman says any deal that is radical and ignores those redlines would be unacceptable to Iran. Esmaeil Baqaei made the comments in his weekly presser. The spokesman added that no agreement will be made with the US unless it includes the clear and effective removal of the sanctions against Iran. Baqaei noted that Tehran should clearly know the mechanism under which the bans end, including in the banking and trade sectors. He also touched on the report by the International Atomic Energy Agency on Iran. Baqaei said the report has been clearly prepared under the pressure of some European countries. He warned that Iran will plan its next moves proportionate to the provocative steps they take.
