Israeli occupation forces have opened fire on Palestinians approaching the newest aid distribution point opened by the controversial US-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation in central Gaza, killing one Palestinian and injuring several others. Similar attacks on Tuesday and Wednesday also left 10 Palestinians dead.
The US and Israel are under fire for their Gaza aid plan run by private firms with military ties. Critics say the initiative exploits the humanitarian crisis to impose data control and identify resistance figures under the cover of aid and the GHF is actually being used to politicize aid distribution in Gaza.
UN agencies and human rights groups warn the plan violates humanitarian principles and say they already have the means to distribute much-needed aid and alleviate the suffering of Palestinians in Gaza.
