UK proceeding with controversial deportations from Caribbean community

The UK government is proceeding with controversial planned deportations of an unknown number of individuals from Britain's Caribbean community on December 2.

The Home Office says those in plans to deport are either criminals or not British nationals at all, while legal experts argue that those scheduled to be deported have a legal right to stay, have not been able to access legal provisions, and in many cases are being torn from families and punished for crimes some minor committed years ago for which custodial sentences have already been served.

Some of those set to be deported from Britain are direct descendants or a part of the Windrush. The Windrush scandal has been described as racist, almost exclusively affecting Britain's Black community.

Unsurprisingly, the impact of the Windrush scandal has had a massive effect on the health of those and the families affected.

The next round of Home Office deportations are due to take place on December 2.

The ongoing deportation of members from Britain's Caribbean communities has been described as racist and unlawful, and despite promises, the government has failed to take any action to prevent further injustices.
