US President Donald Trump’s chief of staff, Mark Meadows, says his symptoms are “very concerning,” while his doctor shifts the timeline of his test and treatment.

“The president’s vitals over the last 24 hours were very concerning and the next 48 hours will be critical in terms of his care,” Meadows said Saturday about Trump, who has been diagnosed with the coronavirus. "We're still not on a clear path yet to a full recovery."

The 74-year-old president first announced on Friday that he and first lady Melania Trump had tested positive for covid-19 but during a briefing on Saturday, Trump's physician, Dr. Sean Conley, said that he was "just 72 hours into the diagnosis now.

The statement raised doubts that the White House had refused to allow the public to know about Trump's condition and let him continue his meetings as had been scheduled.

"This morning while summarizing the President's health, I incorrectly used the term 'seventy two hours' instead of 'day three' and 'fourth eight hours' instead of 'day two' with regards to his diagnosis and the administration of the polyclonal antibody therapy," Conley had to say later.  "The President was first diagnosed with COVID-19 on the evening of Thursday, October 1st and had received Regeron's antibody cocktail on Friday, October 2nd."

Trump, meanwhile, said that he was “starting to feel good,” in a four-minute video posted to Twitter.

“You don’t know, over the next period of a few days, I guess that’s the real test,” he said. “So we’ll be seeing what happens over those next couple of days.”

When he arrived at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center a day earlier, Trump said he “wasn’t feeling so well.”
