A Latin America expert warns that the rise of conservative Ivan Duque as Colombia’s president could end the prospects for peaceful relations with Venezuela and even lead to clashes between the two neighbors.
Isaac Bigio told Press TV that the election victory of Duque, who has taken a hostile stance against the Caracas government, could lead to a “halt” not only in the peace process involving the ex-FARC rebel group at home but also the one with the administration of President Nicolas Maduro.
“Some clashes could happen with Venezuela,” the analyst added.
