The International Broadcast Center (IBC) for the upcoming FIFA World Cup was opened in Moscow on Saturday, June 9, just days before the tournament kicks off.

Speaking at an opening ceremony, FIFA President Gianni Infantino said that the IBC can be considered "the 13th official venue" since it will broadcast the matches to millions of people across the world.

Infantino also confirmed the introduction of the Video Assistant Referee (VAR), which is an inaugural implementation of the technology in a World Cup tournament.

The 2018 FIFA World Cup will take place in Russia from June 14 to July 15, 2018.
