The process has been welcomed by Western countries but the UN's special envoy Bernardino Leon says making a deal is going to be difficult. Leon has warned that Libya is heading towards destruction unless a political deal is found. The internationally-recognized government, based in the eastern city of Tobruk, conducted airstrikes against airports and militia camps in Tripoli. The capital has been under the control of a militia group known as the Libya Dawn since last summer. The rival factions are also laying claim to Libya's National Oil Company.

The ISIL says they've been involved in US military operations against the group. The Takfiris claim they’ve managed to obtain the information by hacking the Pentagon’s servers and databases. The terrorists have been occupying a number of regions in Iraq and Syria since last year. The US is leading an international coalition against the ISIL. But local officials say the coalition’s airstrikes have been ineffective as they have failed to stop the Takfiris’ advances.

The United States and some Persian Gulf Arab countries closed their embassies in Sana’a last month after Ansarullah movement took control of the city.
